Optional visit and tool statistics are currently turned off on this site.
This policy explains what data SubTailor handles when you use the website. In short: your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
Your files
When you add a subtitle file, paste text or open a video in a tool, the file is read and processed by code running in your browser on your own device. The file, its name and its content are not sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see, store or recover them. When you close the page, they are gone, apart from the files you chose to download.
Settings stored on your device
Each tool remembers the options you last used (for example, a time shift or the output format) in your browser’s local storage, so they are filled in next time. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. It never includes your files or file names. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Cookies, analytics and ads
SubTailor offers optional, cookie-free visit and tool statistics. When enabled, these statistics are sent only if your browser has neither Do Not Track nor Global Privacy Control (GPC) turned on. The tools work when statistics are off or blocked.
When enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics receives page addresses, referrers and browser performance measurements to count visits and measure loading and interaction speed. It does not use cookies or browser storage, or track visitors across websites. See Cloudflare’s explanation of its beacon.
Optional tool statistics count tool openings, files added, successful batches, failure codes, downloads, video previews and time-capture actions. An event contains only a schema version, a tool ID, an action code, the page language and, where relevant, input/output format codes, a predefined error code, a file-count range or a processing-time range. Counts use ranges of 1, 2–5, 6–20 or 21–50 files; processing times use under 1 second, 1–3 seconds or over 3 seconds. We do not send file names, file content, video data, exact file sizes or subtitle timestamps. We do not add visitor IDs, IP addresses or browser fingerprints to these events, and do not save analytics events on your device.
Cloudflare Analytics Engine stores these tool events for three months. Reports group counts by tool, language and error code; they do not identify individual visitors.
We do not currently show ads or set analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated attacks. We will update this policy before adding advertising.
Hosting and server logs
The website is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This data is handled under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not use it to identify visitors.
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to reply. We keep the conversation as long as needed to deal with your request.
Links to other websites
Guides link to outside sources, such as style guides and help pages. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
Children
SubTailor is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we don’t receive your files and don’t run accounts, the only personal data we may hold is email you sent us. Write to contact@subtailor.com with any request.
